Safeguarding Policy
Now more than ever, our core aim is to support each child’s holistic development, with particular emphasis on their personal growth, emotional wellbeing and relationships with others. Everyone at Woodside embraces this commitment and seeks to make the most of every interaction, both inside and outside the classroom, to reinforce our purpose. Throughout the school, we create opportunities for reflection and encourage the development of values such as tolerance, empathy, respect for diversity and social inclusion.
We understand that from the moment the child joins our school, they bring with them a set of cultural values and upbringing practices that are an integral part of their family identity.
We are committed to working in partnership with families and fostering a sense of belonging and mutual support across our school community. That is why we begin the year with an in-person meeting with you at our Open School events, which we hope will be the first of many opportunities to connect and share throughout the year.
Cross-Curricular Projects
Positive Relationships and Respect
We promote relationships built on respect, empathy and care for others. Through workshops and collaborative activities, our students reflect on their actions and learn how to foster positive relationships and a harmonious school environment, both in and outside school.
Diversity and Inclusion
We celebrate diversity as an integral part of our community. We support each student by respecting their individual characteristics and needs, working closely with families and, when necessary, in coordination with external support teams.
Time Bank
We learn that everyone has something to share and something to learn from others. Through the Time Bank, students from different year groups exchange skills, knowledge and experiences, fostering self-worth, humility and a sense of community.
Mindfulness and Emotional Wellbeing
Through mindfulness practices, mindful breathing and opportunities for reflection, we help our students identify their emotions, pause and gradually develop strategies for self-regulation and wellbeing.
Dialogue and Participation
We hold assemblies that provide opportunities for students to express themselves, listen to different perspectives and participate in collective decision-making, learning to express and defend their own views respectfully and to embrace differences.
Sexuality Education Workshops
We support our students as they grow by providing guidance and age-appropriate workshops, giving them the tools to build healthy relationships, recognise boundaries and prevent situations of abuse or harmful behaviour.
Woodside es un colegio verdaderamente especial;
Un lugar donde nuestros estudiantes se sienten profundamente conectados con la naturaleza y con su comunidad.
